Racquetball Limiting Belief and Liberating Truth #2

Updated: Aug 17, 2021

Limiting Belief- I am alone with my insurmountable racquetball problems so I have to quit the game.

Once upon a time there was a racquetball player who loved playing racquetball. In fact, he loved it so much that his very name was Ray Racquetball. He played as much as he could, because, as we all know, the camaraderie and endorphin rushes of racquetball can be quite addictive. But our hero Ray was noticing more and more physical pain in his elbows, shoulders, and knees. He cut out his games for 2 weeks, but even when he started again, was noticing the same pain. Ray started to feel emotional discomfort, maybe even a touch of despair, as he started hearing less and less from his trusted racquetball partners as he had to deny them more and more games. Enter: Bev, the fairy coachmother, touched Ray with her magic racquetball racquet, and all was well...NO! NOT! Totally unrealistic! In real life, after a long layoff, maybe even physical therapy or even joint surgery, Ray would come to Bev for technical instruction and modified footwork drills and strengthening. There is a most efficient, joint-friendly way to hit a racquetball, and Bev the fairy coachmother often feels a burning desire to help others learn this. However, racquetball is so addictive that even people with perfect swings often play themselves into overuse injury, and this is where I know I can help because I have learned how to periodize training to minimize injuries. Almost every player would benefit from an organized training program with me the expert coach to help them pace themselves.
