Racquetball Limiting Belief and Liberating Truth #1

LIMITING BELIEF-   "If I just play players who are better than me , my game will improve."

                                             Story Time

Once upon a time there was a racquetball player named "Peter Play Better Players". He felt that all he needed to do to improve would be to play better players. One day after his normal beating from his better opponent, Ben Best Player, he was feeling a little down. Suddenly Bev the Fairy Coachmother appeared.

"Who are you?" He exclaimed in surprise.

"I am here to encourage you. I'm Bev the Fairy Coachmother," Bev added, "Why such a long face?" Peter replied, "Ben Best Player always cleans my clock. I'm tired of this, but when I started I thought that playing him would help me improve."

Bev: "Playing better players only helps you AFTER you have learned the core disciplines of the sport from a coach, practiced and mastered the correct habits of play, and have become more fit. While taking lessons your game will go into transition and you may even need to play players below your level for a while. Playing better players is best when you are preparing for an important competition. Even then, my guidance in how much you do this will help you prepare and go into the competition fresh and periodized."

So Peter signed up for lessons, practiced assiduously, took a longterm view and noticed that ONE YEAR OR SIX MONTHS LATER he was better than before the lessons, and lived happily ever after.
